The clergy of St Saviour's work together to uphold the ministry of the parish.
The Rev. Pat Simons
Pat was ordained into diaconal ministry in 2013 after many years of fellowship at St Saviour's Church. She feels drawn to those who are less fortunate, a calling that has helped her create the Free Store, the Community Meal, as well as supplying furnishings to people who would otherwise not be able to afford it. Pat also provides pastoral care to many in the community.
As of January 21st, 2024, our former priest, the Rev. Canon Nick Pang, has take a new position in Vancouver. A parish selection committee has been struck and a search process is underway for our next Incumbent.
The Rev. Richard Simpson
Richard was ordained into diaconal ministry in 2012. He sits on diocesan and parish committees and the Board of Directors for Discovery House. Richard has a passion for serving marginalized people, a calling that helped him head a team of volunteers at Penticton's Soupateria for 13 years. Richard is known for being gentle, patient and soft spoken. He especially loves hospital visiting and pastoral care.
The Wardens, Incumbent, and Treasurer (WITs) together form the leadership team of the parish.
In teamwork and collaboration with the Incumbent, the People’s Warden, and the Treasurer, Joanne provides leadership for the local congregation, setting a vision and providing oversight for the smooth running of the parish. As Incumbent’s Warden, she particularly works with and supports the Incumbent. Wardens are also available to members of the congregation for information, complaints, and/or suggestions. Joanne’s background is in strategic planning, managing change, adult education, and facilitation.
Wendy is the People’s Warden at St Saviour’s. Along with the Incumbent and the Incumbent’s Warden she is responsible for the executive leadership of the parish, setting a vision and overseeing the maintenance of the church community and church building. As the People’s Warden she is the primary voice of the parish community in the leadership circle. Wendy has a rich background in communications.
Beth has been a member of St Saviour's since the 80's. She's been involved at various times in both warden's positions, on the newcomers' committee, as part of kitchen help, office help, envelope secretary, and as part of the ACW. She was asked to take over as treasurer in 2005 and has continued in that role ever since. Her contributions to St Saviour's have gone a long way to support and maintain the church she loves so dearly.
Church Council is responsible for the oversight of the church's programs and community life. The Council as a whole comprises clergy, the executive, and the members at large.
